Specialist workshops with the SF Meteo team
Various target groups place different demands on the weather forecast. The Eiger Live Week will provide you with the opportunity for learning and discussion within your group.

Mountain Guides
 Both whilst planning tours, as well as in the mountains, mountain guides are permanently confronted with weather issues. The recognising of signs and assessing the development of the weather has a crucial influence on the success of a mountaineering tour. This workshop deals with weather facts. After a brief theory session (cold front, warm front, stability of the atmosphere) we work out the best way of making a forecast and then try and improve on this on the basis of observation.

Paragliding pilots
 For paragliding pilots a well-founded knowledge of the weather is absolutely vital. This workshop deals with weather situations (high pressure, föhn wind, westerly weather and easterly winds), and about thermals in the Jungfrau Region. In addition you will learn where to find meteorological information of specific useful use to pilots.

Tourist Manager
 Those in the tourist trade often claim that weather forecasts can have a negative influence on business. Couldn’t the forecasts really be better? Or is it more a case of the signs and symbols being misunderstood? In this workshop the facts will be discussed and the possibility for optimisation worked out.
