Nomination for the Eiger Award now open. Nominate your candidate.
The Eiger live Week, marking the opening of the summer season, will take place from the 12 – 20 June 2010. Although the winter season is presently at the centre of our activities, we are already working towards the organisation of the 6th Eiger live Week and the presentation of the Eiger Award for the 3rd time.
The weather will be the main topic of the Eiger live Week this year. Besides interesting activities and events in the village of Grindelwald, we will collaborate with Thomas Bucheli, the well-known Swiss meteorologist from SF Meteo and his crew. A further highlight will be the presentation of the Eiger Award, the “Oscar” for mountaineering,
on Saturday 19 June 2010.

The award is honoured with prize money of 1000 Euros
It is awarded according to the following criteria:
• Repeated top mountaineering and/or personal achievements in the mountains
• The ability to convey mountaineering as an experience and adventure
• Respect of the mountains as a source of inspiration and creativity
• Noticeable contribution to the development of mountaineering
